Daniel N. Bension
DVM, CVA
Dr. Bension DVM, CVA, has been practicing for 25 years and has experience with a wide range of species, including companion, exotics and large animals.
Dr. Bension DVM, CVA, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tuskegee School of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Dr. Bension has been practicing for 25 years and has experience with a wide range of species, including companion, exotics and large animals. He practiced nearly five years in Louisville, and recently celebrated 20 years at Salt River Veterinary Clinic. He was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, and then raised in Louisville, KY, graduated from Ballard High School, and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of Louisville (Major Philosophy, Minor History). Dr. Bension has a wide range of experience in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and alternative therapies including acupuncture and therapeutic laser. Dr. Bension enjoys yard work, swimming, riding motorcycles and dirt bikes, reading and watching movies. He also enjoys completing his daily to-do list provided by his life/work partner, Theresa.
Theresa Bension
Theresa has worked for Salt River Veterinary Clinic for over 13 years. She is also a retired Registered Nurse with over 30 years experience in the healthcare field. She is a Louisville native, graduate of Assumption High School and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Louisville. Theresa enjoys working with animals and helping them feel comfortable and to have a calm experience. She has a sweet dog “Chucky”, and she also has a cool cat “Ray Ray”, whom she adopted from Salt River. Theresa enjoys gardening, camping, hiking, swimming, riding her Razor, and just being outdoors observing all of Mother Nature. She also enjoys providing her life/work partner, AKA Dr. B, with daily to-do lists.
Alexandra
Veterinary Assistant
Alexandra currently attends Brescia University and plans to graduate in the Fall, 2022 with a Bachelor Degree in Biology. She loves hanging out with animals, especially her rabbit, “Bearcat”.
Macy and “Arlo”
Veterinary Assistant
Macy is from Chaplin, KY and owns 3 dogs and 28 chickens. As a child, she enjoyed playing basketball from 2nd grade through high school (Nelson County). She currently attends ECTC pursuing her degree in Radiology. She enjoys spending time with her dogs and riding 4 wheelers.
Roy Brewer

Roy worked with veterinarians in Taylorsville for 45 years. His happy disposition and dedication to our clients made him an amazing asset to our clinic. Roy was a joy to work with and will be truly missed.
